In 1995 Mr. Kane was commissioned by the Hualalai Development Company, builders of the Four Seasons Resost Hualalai at Ka‘upulehu in North Kona, on the Island of Hawai‘i, to paint eleven original paintings depicting ancient inhabitants in a typical coastal Hawaiian village. He chose to paint images representing the various professions, skilled craftsmen, of the time. These original oil paintings are permanently on display in the Ka‘upulehu Cultural Center.
